It’s said that when you identify the problem you are nine tenths towards solving the problem. It’s an extreme example but even drug addicts first need to agree that they have a problem before they can be helped. In network marketing if we can recognise and understand the main reasons why other people fail we can in turn find a way around those common pitfalls and be more assured of success.

In the MLM industry attrition rate can run as high as 70 to 90%. This means that the vast majority of all people who try a Network Marketing business don’t last beyond the first few months.
The positive side of this is that 9 out of 10 of those who survive ten years in MLM become very wealthy indeed. Network Marketing has produced more self-made millionaires than any other single industry in the world. It was knowing people who were earning £5000 to £80,000 a month that initially attracted me to the business.
But (and again it’s another BIG BUT!) if this industry has produced more self-made millionaires than any other – why is it that more people don’t stick it out long enough to succeed?

The concept of moving goods or services through an army of independent distributors has earned its place in the marketing world despite the negative publicity caused by some bad apples in the industry. Network Marketing is here to stay. The question that remains is “What is the best MLM to get involved with?”
Here I will provide some very important pointers that would guide you in the right direction. Any company that you can find passing these criteria is likely to be a great company to line up with.
1. A company that has been in the business for at least 5 years and has great financial backing, excellent management and a ‘distributor first’ philosophy. The company should also have a long-term development goal and not just be out for the quick dough.
This may be a challenge to reach but considering that the great majority of start-up MLM companies fail within their first three years you don’t want your income stream to suddenly dry up! It’s no walk in the park to discover that after you’ve spent time, effort and money to build a solid organization the company closes down because one of those essential elements was missing. (more…)
